We are pleased that you are interested in adoption on the Isle of Wight and hope that you will find the information on these pages helpful. The Isle of Wight Adoption Agency is always looking for families to provide an adoptive home for children who cannot live with their birth families. Many of these children are over two and some of them need to be placed with their brothers or sisters. Some will have special needs and many will need to maintain contact with some members of their birth family. All children placed for adoption, will have experienced loss and some will bring their emotional damage with them. We need families who can help these children to heal and to understand their own individual history. We have very few babies needing adoptive families. We do not have set ideas about what makes a good adoptive family and we need people from a range of backgrounds to meet the needs of the different children that we have to place. We will consider applications from a wide variety of people and would welcome the opportunity to talk to you about what you can offer.
